Small-Town Comfort. Specialized, High-Quality Care.

As your community hospital, we provide a unique and reliable balance of welcoming, small-town comfort and specialized, high-quality care. No matter what brings you to see us, you can expect a warm welcome, comfortable atmosphere, and the full attention of our dedicated physicians.

Aspen Mountain Medical Center aligns a dedicated group of physician owners with a focused team of executives and staff, both understanding that the greatest outcomes are first preceded by the highest patient satisfaction.

Having spent decades caring for patients in Southwest Wyoming, our founders came to believe strongly in the importance of high-quality, affordable healthcare that is accessible and keeps patients near to their families and homes.

So they came together to deliver precisely that.

In a hard-working community that understands the balance of quality and value, Aspen Mountain Medical Center focuses on personalized care and managing costs, so the financial burden of healthcare is not passed on to our patients. And because we’ve made our home here in Rock Springs, patients will spend less time traveling for healthcare and save even more.

What sets us apart?

  • 51k sq.ft. facility
  • 16 private patient rooms

Leadership

Melissa Anderson, MSN, RN

Chief Nursing Officer

As a registered nurse for more than 15 years and nursing leader for more than 10, Melissa has acquired experience in the ER, ICU, medical surgical, corrections, long-term care, travel nursing, and home health. She has a background in entrepreneurship from owning and operating a travel nursing company, and she serves as an adjunct nursing professional with Western Wyoming Community College.

Melissa earned her Associate’s degree in nursing through Western Wyoming Community College, Bachelor’s in nursing through the University of Wyoming, and Master’s in Clinical Systems Leadership through the University of Arizona.

Early in her nursing career, Melissa discovered the many ways people would “ask” for help, and realized many medical and mental ailments could potentially be missed due to differing means of communication. That was when Melissa made it a personal goal to become a better communicator and be able to connect with various populations more effectively.

In addition to her commitment to communication, Melissa has a strong foundation in leadership and is passionate about empowering and advocating for the caregiver and healthcare professional. The effect is felt through our community, and her priority for excellence in patient care is evident.

A Wyoming native, Melissa grew up in Moorcroft and moved to Rock Springs in 2002. “I am drawn to the family feel of Rock Springs,” Melissa says. “This is my home, and I love the community dearly.”

She and her husband Dirk enjoy watching their son play basketball and football and their daughter play for an accelerated softball team in Utah. One of her favorite places to visit is Huether Road in the Badlands of South Dakota. Melissa also likes to long-distance run, backpack, watch PRCA rodeo, eat radishes, and drink coffee. Her words to live by: “This is fine.”
